Before we got here,
here's what wasn't working.
InstaMD RPM brings remote patient monitoring into the provider's existing workflow through a Chrome extension that surfaces patient status and readings alongside the chart. The platform supports eligibility, enrollment and consent management, high-risk patient tracking, cellular device data integration, and documentation, claims and outcomes workflows. Its gallery also highlights browser setup, reading trends, and practice-scoped access controls.
We confirmed every challenge with the team before writing a line of production code. The right column lists the pain points we tackled head-on and how we approached each one.
What wasn't working
BEFORESurface remote patient monitoring alongside clinical work without a separate portal
A Chrome extension places the RPM panel beside the chart, with patient information presented as read-only.
Make patient readings useful for ongoing remote assessment
Reading history is presented as trend charts alongside the RPM panel for reviewing patient measurements.
Keep browser access scoped to the right practice and manageable by staff
The extension setup uses InstaMD sign-in and practice identification, with controls to test the connection, sign out, or reset access.

Solve what matters, ship fast.
The instinct on complex projects is to rebuild everything from scratch. We pushed back. A full rewrite often means months of regressions while engineering rebuilds features that were already working.
We mapped the existing workflow against actual usage. The result was clear: a small set of features accounted for the majority of user time. We rebuilt the core, shipped fast, and extended outward.
